1st and the Last for me! Oh no!

Today is the first day of school for my daughter who is a senior this year! So, this is the last of the 1st days of school, at least for public school! OMG! Where has the time gone!? Just yesterday I walked her to kindergarten with her little bear backpack and her little face all skinned from a bike accident!

I find this very hard to endure, but I guess I'll live! lol I hope this year doesn't go as fast as the last 17 years have gone! But it probably will and I'll find myself lost and wandering around trying to figure out what to do! lol I didn't even get her picture! I always take a first day of school pic! ARGGG!!
My babies are all grown up and a new chapter of my life will begin I guess! At least I'll try to face this bravely and look forward to her going to college and being a "grown up" and on her own and chalk it up to another success! My grown boys are great too!

Still working on orders as fast as I can and looking forward to new patterns and designs for you!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is my first Mother's Day without my dear Mom! I didn't think I could even get up today but yesterday, my daughter's boyfriend's mom gave me a beautiful yellow rose bush, my mom's favorite flowers, and a wonderful card with the sweetest message in honor of my Mother!
I will plant it where I can see it always!
Happy Mother's Day to you all! Take the day off? Probably not! But today is our special day so enjoy your families!

After the rain! The garden's growing!

The garden's coming along! Strawberries on the plants, but couldn't find anymore plants to plant, and blooms on the tomatoes!
There's nothing better than a home grown tomato! I can't wait!

HAPPY MAY DAY!

Happy First of May to you all!!
I remember making up a little basket of candy we could find around the house and picking some dandelions from our yard and taking it over to our neighbors house, ringing the doorbell, and running.
It was so fun! Don't know if they appreciated it or not, but......lol
We're deep into storm season already here in Oklahoma and we went from a drought to too much rain with flood warnings all over the place! I heard it's going to rain heavy all weekend, but that's how it goes!
Haven't gotten to check on my little garden but I'm sure they're lovin the rain!
Boy this year has already flown! Better get busy!!!
have a great day everyone!

My 2009 Garden!

Because I'm still not quite ready to create, I have nothing to share except my new garden for this year! I'm happy to have it in earlier than last year! We didn't get to it until June last year but this year we're on it!

I'm growing tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and strawberries. Here's my little garden spot for the year!

Thank you!

Thank you all for your support on my daughter's fundraiser! She met her goal and then some! So far, everyone is happy with the orders they purchased online, but the rest will come in in May. I should have ordered online! :) Anyway, thanks again! You are the best!!

Life's Simple Pleasures!

Well, for some, this is not a big deal but around my house you don't get new things unless the old ones completely quit working! You know the drill?

I've been living with a washer that only spins out on a couple of the settings, permanent press and delicate. On the other cycles, it just flat won't spin out and added to that, my knob to set the cycle broke off a long time ago! I noticed too that it wasn't really rinsing too good lately, but hey, it still works!

Then my dryer started making this strange noise? Hubby said sounds like the bearings. Oh great! Well, my dryer bit the dust!! Yippee!! lol

I got to get a new washer and dryer yesterday! I love it!! It's beautiful and it works! All cycles work! The dryer doesn't whine! It's wonderful! I can't wait to have some laundry to do!!!

It's the simple things in life that are important to me and I have to admit, it doesn't take much to excite me! lol Had to share with you my simple pleasure!

Have a great day today!

I had a wonderful day!

Today is my birthday.....not so exciting when you get to be my age but my family and friends always make it special! Thank you all so much who sent me birthday wishes! I really appreciate it! I really do!
I got a new jigsaw puzzle too and that could be deadly for me! I'm so addicted to them and if I get it out, I won't do anything but that!
There's a wonderful bakery here called Johnson's bakery and it's my very favorite cake ever! I got a beautiful one from there from my family! Here it is!

Isn't it the prettiest cake!?
And I got the most beautiful floral bouquet from a dear dear friend with a birthday balloon! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The flowers are much more bright and colorful than in the photo!

I've had such a wonderful day!

Missed my middle child and my daughter who had to work but that's how it goes!

And so it goes............another day older........

Spring is almost here!

Spring is just around the corner! I love it! All the trees are budding and blooming, getting ready to show their summer splendor!

The only thing is, around here, that means the possibility of some nasty storms! But that's Oklahoma weather for you!

I'm so close to designing new items. I can't wait! Almost finished with orders and then that will begin!

Is everyone as excited about Spring as I am? What's your favorite season?

Have a great day everyone! Becky

This is the beginning of the end for me! haha

Today is the first day of lasts for me and I will be entering a new way of life soon! Yes, my last child will be a senior in high school next year and today she is trying out for cheer for the last time. Everything from today on, will be her last time for everything! Well, that's not that big of deal some might say, but I'm thinking about this concept of not having any kids in school type of life.
This is always such a stressful time for the girls and moms too! All the girls do the same cheer, city wide for the 3 schools we have, all at the same place. For our school, there are 45 girls trying out for 30 positions.
Wish us luck and hope I make it through this LAST tryout! Maybe I'll be saying WHEW, when it's over! hehe

I have a new Featured Artist!

On my website, I occasionally feature and artist that I would like to share with everyone!

Musikboxet is a very good customer of mine who uses my muslin to create cute cute dolls and things! She also has wonderful music boxes on her website! Go check out my newest featured artist, Musikboxet8kpg!

Daylight Savings Time?! EEK!

Are you kidding me?! We move our clocks UP this weekend? Well, I'm not ready for this! I like REAL time but ok......

Saturday is cheer tryouts and the stress is on. It's such a scary time for the girls. There's 45 trying out for 32 spots, 20 being varsity, 12 for JV. My daughter is going to be a senior so this is her last tryout. She has mixed emotions about it.

I'm still trying to get back to normal here but I have another trip to the store this morning. I forgot to get bleach! I like to start my sewing in the morning, but when I have something I have to do away from the house, I like to get that all done first.......so guess I'll go jump in the shower! Have a nice day everyone!

I love March!

Yippee! Spring is almost here! I love the month of March! My daughter was born this month on the 12th and, not so nice, I was born on the 25th. I love the newness of all the plants and trees, and the smell in the air! I love March!

Back to work!

I am getting back to work today! If you have placed an order with me, I am working on them in order that I received them. It won't be long though because I'm more than ready to craft again! Thanks for your patience!

Thank you all!

I want to thank you all for your cards, letters, messages, and beautiful flowers sent during this time. It has really done so much to help me through this sad time. I'm feeling much better because of it.

The service was beautiful and as mom would say, "I had a great turnout!"

I will never forget everyone's kindness. Thank you. Becky

My Mother

Photobucket

My Mother…..
My mother came from a very poor family, who lived through the Great Depression and many other hardships along the way.
She always talked about sharing shoes and clothes, walking long distances to school, and not having enough food to eat.
But she was the best Mom to me, and my 4 siblings, me being the youngest.
My Father was killed when I was 6 and she carried on the best she could. She worked at home doing invisible re-weaving, a self-taught procedure that was in pretty high demand. Along with that, she worked at J.C.Penneys, then a slack manufacturing company here, and then at Kmart, where she was a wonderful assistant manager of the appliance department and she loved her job.
I was the last left at home and we got by pretty good. Once I married, Mom was my constant friend and companion, always sharing in the ups and downs of motherhood with my 3 children. She always listened intently to my stories, laughed and cried with me, and offered her best advice, or just a shoulder. I always marveled over how she always knew just what to say.
With my last child, we shopped together and had many lunches full of chat and love. I couldn’t have done it without her.
She was always a very loving, kind hearted person, never meeting a stranger, and never hesitating to give what little she had to someone in need.
As she aged, I saw changes in her and knew she was slipping away to Dementia.
She lived with me for about a year and then we placed her in a nursing home.
She’s surprised every doctor, many times with her determination to go on.
She turned 90 on Jan. 19. She hardly has any gray hair!
She just got out of the hospital with a mild case of pneumonia but her oxygen is low, and she can’t swallow food or water.
I’ve been trying to come to terms with the thought of losing her for a long time, but it never quite takes. I don’t know what I will do without her in my life, except remember all the kind things she said and did and what an impression she made in my life and many others’.
On Feb. 19, 2009, they called me from the nursing home to tell me that Mother was near the end.
We gathered at her bedside and I saw her take her last breath.
I can’t believe the emotions I have gone through and I feel so alone.
I have a wonderful family all around me and I know that live will go on and everyday I will remember something my Mother shared with me.
I wanted to share my story because for those of you who have your parents, you are lucky. Please enjoy them, be patient with them, and spend time with them before they’re gone.
Today God has in his presence in heaven, Lola Phillips Boon, one of his very best creations.

All about Dieting!

Well, I put on some weight over the holidays, as usual, but I need to take it off for sure! My blood pressure goes up, the more weight I gain!
Last year, I was on Southbeach Diet, and it worked great but I'm finding when trying to get back on the program, I cannot eat the food! EGGS in the morning simply turn my stomach! Salads, come on! I wore them out! They're great for a bit or 2!
So, help me find a way! What diet, or eating habits work for you? Please let me know! I can use all the help I can get! Any words of encouragement are welcome!!

Happy 2009 for us all!

I've been gone a while but the new year came and is in full swing!

I'm finding it hard to get back to work and have not gotten all my sorting and cleaning done. I really need to clean my craft room to get back to work!

So, for this year, I'm going to write some new patterns, try to have lots of new items, and keep this blog updated better than I did last year!

Christmas was wonderful here this year. Not a lot of money to spend and I think that's why it was so much better!

My apologies to all who have come here to find nothing new! That's really bad, right? So sorry for that!

Drop me a line and inspire me to get going!!! Have a great day!!! It's suppose to be 80 here in Oklahoma today! Then, as they say, the bottom falls out!
